1. Our Privacy Commitment

Luna is built on a fundamental principle: your health data belongs to you, and only you. We don't collect, store, or share your personal health information on any servers. All data remains on your device, always.

2. Data Storage

All data you enter into Luna is stored locally on your device using a SQLite database. This database is located within your app's private sandbox and is not accessible to other apps or services.

  • Location: Your device only (local SQLite database)
  • Cloud Storage: None
  • Server Access: None
  • Backup: Optional manual export to your device's Documents folder

2.1 Data We Store

Luna stores the following information locally on your device:

  • Period start and end dates
  • Flow levels and symptoms
  • Basal body temperature readings
  • Cervical mucus observations
  • Mood and other logged symptoms
  • App settings and preferences

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

Luna does NOT collect:

  • Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
  • Location data
  • Device identifiers or advertising IDs
  • Usage analytics or app performance data
  • Any data transmitted to external servers

4. Data Sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your data with third parties. Since your data never leaves your device, there is no possibility of unauthorized data sharing.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data remains on your device until you choose to delete it. You can:

  • Delete individual entries within the app
  • Export your data as a JSON file for backup
  • Delete the app to remove all data (standard iOS behavior)

When you delete Luna from your device, all data is permanently removed in accordance with iOS app sandbox rules.

6. On-Device Machine Learning

Luna's cycle predictions are generated using on-device machine learning. The prediction algorithm runs locally on your phone using your historical cycle data. No prediction data is sent to external servers.

7. Data Security

Your data is protected by iOS's app sandbox architecture, which isolates app data from other apps and system processes. The database is stored in your app's private directory and is encrypted when your device is locked (if you have device encryption enabled).

8. Third-Party Services

Luna does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The app operates entirely offline with respect to data processing.

9. Children's Privacy

Luna is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy.
